Dream of a Mosque

Dream of a Mosque

I had a dream, which I title “Dream of a Mosque”. I believe this inspirational dream was given to me by God to share with everybody in the world.

It’s important to note that I grew up in the Christian faith. Now, I know there are many different faiths and cultures around the world, and I have always been very curious to learn as much about them as I possibly can.

One day I wondered to myself what the Muslim religion was, and what it was like at a Muslim Mosque. So, that night I had a dream that I was standing in front of a Mosque. Two young men, who were dressed in very nice suits, greeted me at the front door and led me to my seat. I walked in following the two men. They showed me to my seat, somewhere in the middle of the Mosque. There were long rows of seats that kind of resembled pews in a church, and every seat was taken, the mosque was full.

On the stage there was a podium with a man standing there, dressed very formally, and he began to give his lesson. As he began to speak, I began to fall asleep in my own dream. A man next to me nudged me with his elbow and said, “Hey wake up!”. I woke up in my dream and said, “Sorry I was dozing off there.” The man at the front continued to speak, then when he finished, he said, “That completes our lesson, and now we dance”!

When he said the word dance, he clapped his hands together once while music started playing. The music sounded very beautiful! I would describe it as Arab flute music. All the people stood up and started walking toward a space in the Mosque where before, there was no space. In my dream, the wall actually disappeared in the Mosque and left a big open space. I followed the people outside where there were beautiful, rolling green hills as far as you could see, beautiful blue skies, and everyone was dancing; men, women, and even children were dancing to the flute music that was playing.

The woman wore beautiful, vibrant dresses, and the men and the children were dressed very nicely as well. Everyone was smiling, happy, laughing, and having a good time.

I then woke up in the real world feeling very happy. I thought about the wall disappearing, the man at the front telling everyone to dance, the music playing, the women in their dresses, and what it all meant.

First off, for an entire wall to disappear is something to take note of. I believe that represents open-mindedness, so open that an entire wall was removed. Then we should look at what was beyond the wall, the beautiful rolling green hills, the big blue skies, and all the people walking and dancing outside, seeming so happy.

Is this a look at how life could be if we were all a little more open-minded?

Another very important part of the dream is the beautiful rolling, green hills. I think this signifies the Earth, and how important the Earth is to all of us. No matter what culture, you come from we all live and share this amazing planet. Earth is home to all of us and taking care of Earth is in all of our best interests to benefit everyone.

I do think this was a look at the future and the way things could be if we all work together, because only together can we save the earth.

There are many religions and faiths throughout the world, and they are all wonderful in so many ways, and they create such a large part of our cultures. But one of the main details from the dream I couldn’t shake was the joyous women and their beautiful dresses.

Traditionally in the Muslim culture women wear hijabs or burkas. In my dream, the women wore colorful flower dresses. Their dresses were very tasteful and classy, and around knee-high in length. While the women were wearing classy and respectful dresses, this is still not something you would see at a mosque in present-day times.

I interpreted this as a worldly message that women must be free! Just as every human on Earth must be free! Free to wear whatever clothing they want to wear. Be it a flower dress or a pair of jeans. Whatever they want! Women should be able to enjoy the same freedoms men do. If women want to wear a hijab or burka that’s amazing, but the point is it must be their choice.

A woman should be free to buy a house, open a business, drive a car, go to school to get a degree in any subject. Women should be able to fly planes and captain ships; anything they put their mind to!

Now all of this may sound silly as in America women do have these rights, but in many countries and cultures around the world, even today women are denied the ability to be free and express who they are.

I believe this is a dream from God so I think we should all take notice here. We all need to work together. We need to show women due respect that they deserve. Everyone in the world has a mother. Let’s give women and our mothers respect. I believe the world’s path needs to be towards achieving peace and equality, and one day when peace is achieved it will have started with the fair treatment of women around the world.
